Alicia Part 5

Her size was much larger, but so was her strength. With little to no effort she was able to remove the small door from its hinges. Unable to fit through the opening she tore the walls surrounding the door down until she could fit through.

An empty warehouse lay before her. There was nothing in front of her, it was totally bare. Light shone through a door that led outside. Her relief was cut short when she realized her clothes were now scraps, barely covering her.

In a panic she turned to find what was making the dripping sound. There was a faucet. A thick liquid was dripping into a large jug. Behind her there were rows and rows of jugs filled with the liquid. The hunger got the best of her and she lunged at a jug, inhaling the liquid.

Alicia immediately realized her mistake... She was suddenly no longer in the warehouse. She wasn't inside at all. Whatever was in the jug was making her grow, and fast. Before she knew it she was towering over the city.

Unable to see the ground and getting warmer as she grew all she could remember was why she said yes. Why she agreed. She knew it was a suicide mission, there is no way it wasn't... But she owed them, she owed it to her family to ease the strain.

She began to feel lightheaded as her height stretched towards the ozone layer. She took one last deep breath. With no pain and no regrets she combusted. Not a trace was left.

Her family morned her disappearance and searched day and night.

One morning there was a note attached to their newspaper. It was from Alicia.

Mom, dad, and Danny,

If you are reading this I am already gone. Please don't be sad. This was my choice. I picked this. I knew all the possible outcomes. I wanted to make sure that you never have to worry about money again. We needed a solution and living less than paycheck to paycheck was not working.

I'm hoping my participation in the study can help future generations. A man named Theo will be contacting you. He will explain everything.

I love you all so much,

Alicia
