Book Review: Sekret Machines: A Fire Within (Book 2) by Tom DeLonge, guitarist of Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves, and British-American novelist A. J. Hartley.
Just like the first book in the series this science-fiction novel that weaves stories of fiction and non-fiction to keep readers engaged and interested in the mysteries of the skies. Each chapter gives you a new part of the story at large and changes between each main character until the stories inevitably intertwine.
Tamika, Alan, and Jennifer return in the second book and their stories continue in the US, Crete, and London. Readers will enjoy each character’s journey until they are all intertwined once again.
The second installment brings more elements of science fiction that ask the reader to be open minded to things that are often written off as impossible. Introducing fairy rings and astral projection to the world already questioning the skies above.
There are more stories that are “based on a true story”, which allows for a nice change of pace while enjoying the main story.
The second book is said to be the final of the series, but leaves readers wanting a little bit more of the story.
