Micro Stories 2

Evan never imagined he would end up in a situation, but here he was… again.

If you would have asked him in high school, “where will you be in 10 years” he would never hesitate when answering: working at the New York Times. Evan kept his nose clean, his head held high, and was determined to make it to NYC.

Fast forward, he made it to NYC and even worked at the Times. He was, however, finding himself if a peculiar situation, for the third time… this week.

Sure, Evan was working at the Times, but he wasn’t the journalist he dreamed of. Evan was stuck, seemingly forever, in the mailroom.

On this Friday morning, he is rushing, almost in a trance, cleaning the mess from the night before. He couldn’t be late again, but blood is really hard to get out of carpeting and he panicked.

Truth be told, it wasn’t his fault; he didn’t mean to join a cult as a freshman in college, it just sort of happened.
